Hindus believe that cows are a connection between the human and sub-human world, cows give them life-sustaining milk and thats why there treated like goddesses

Krishna(a hindu deity) is often depicted as playing his flute around cows. He was a cow herder growing up and was also called the friend and protector of cows.
