ANCIENT GREECE

HOW GEOGRAPHY AFFECTED THE WAY THEY LIVED.

The Sea

  • It allowed Greece to trade with other civilizations.
  • North Arica, spain, the phome valley, balkans, and east india.
  • It helped them with war fair.
  • Greece could travel farther and conquer further places by sea.
  • Allows them to travel to further kingdoms to conquer.

AGRICULTURE

  • Greece has mountainous land.
  • It is located next to the Aegean Sea.
  • Farms were spread out because of the mountains

Enviornment

  • Dry in the summers, rain in the winter.
  • Coldest days 48 degrees and warmest 80 degrees F.
  • Relatively warm so nothing freezes.
  • Fertile land for farming only in specific areas.
  • Could not support a large population.

  • The sea allowed Greeks to trade better.
  • North Arica, spain, the phome valley, balkans, and east india.
  • They traded their mainland products for materials they lacked.

  • Sea helped see ships coming in to prepare for battle.
  • Attacked during summer on mountains when it was warm.
  • Had small city states that would come together and fight.

  • Had a large wall 20 feet thick surrounding its farms and villages.
