LENGTH AND TIME

  • The Jurassic time period is part of the Mesozoic era
  • The Mesozoic era is also known as the Age of Reptiles.
  • The start of the period is marked by the major Triassic–Jurassic extinction event.
  • Time range: 199.6 to 145.5 million years ago

BEGINNING AND ENDING

  • During the early Jurassic period, the supercontinent Pangaea broke up into
  • northern supercontinent Laurasia and the southern supercontinent Gondwana
  • A mass extinction wiped about 80% of life

  • Pangea began to split up during this time
  • The water animals began to die out

  • It has a lot of animals and plants
  • The climate is good

  • And plesiosaurs

  • The climate is warm
  • Most with the greenhouse effect
