PRESENTATION OUTLINE
points have no length or width and are named with a capital letter.
lines extend infinitely in both directions.
a plane is a flat surface that extends infinitely in all directions.
collinear points are points that lie on the same line.
when points all lie in the same plane, it's called coplanar.
a line segment is part of a line between two points.
when two shapes are the same exact size with the same exact angles, they are called congruent.
when a point lies exactly in the middle of a line, it is called midpoint.
a right angle is an angle of 90 degrees.
an acute angle is an angle less than 90 degrees.
an obtuse angle is an angle more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees
vertical angles are the angles opposite each other when two lines cross. These angles share the same vertex.
Two angles that are adjacent (share a leg) and supplementary (add up to 180°)
Two angles are Adjacent if they have a common side and a common vertex (corner point), and don't overlap.
when an angle adds up to 90 degrees it is called a complementary angle
when an angle adds up to 180 degrees it is called a supplementary angle.
Lines that are at right angles (90°) to each other.
