PRESENTATION OUTLINE

TRANSVERSAL

  • Definition: A line that cuts across two or more (usually parallel) lines.
  • Real word example: if my friend and I raced in a straight line and came across someone who was turning

ALTERNATE INTERIOR ANGLES

  • Definition:When two lines are crossed by another line
  • Real world example: the angles inside the letter x are alternate interior angles

SAME-SIDE INTERIOR ANGLES

  • Definition:Same side interior angles are pairs of angle that are found on the same side of the line called the transversal.

CORRESPONDING ANGLES

  • Definition:when two lines cross the angles matching in the corner are corresponding
  • Real life example:a window blind

ALTERNATE EXTERIOR ANGLES

  • When two lines are cut by another line (transversal), the pairs of angles formed outside the two lines and on the opposite of the transversal are called Alternate Exterior Angles.

SAME-SIDE EXTERIOR ANGLES

  • They are angles that lie on the same side of the transversal outside the lines named.

PARAELLOGRAM

n. A four-sided plane figure with opposite sides parallel.

RECTANGLE

A rectangle is a four-sided flat shape where every angle is a right angle (90°).

RHOMBUS

A RHOMBUS IS A FLAT SHAPE WITH 4 EQUAL STRAIGHT SIDES.

KITE

A KITE IS A QUADRILATERAL THAT HAS TWO DISJOINTED PAIRS OF SIMILAR AND ADJACENT SIDES.

SQUARE

A SQUARE IS A FLAT SHAPE WITH 4 EQUAL SIDES AND EVERY ANGLE IS A RIGHT ANGLE (90°)

TRAPEZOID

A KITE IS A QUADRILATERAL THAT HAS TWO DISJOINTED PAIRS OF SIMILAR AND ADJACENT SIDES.

CONSECUTIVE ANGLE

CONSECUTIVE ANGLES IN GEOMETRY ARE THA ANGLES AT EACH END OF ONE SIDE.
