George Cayley was born 1773 and died 1857 at the age of 84. He was an English Engineer and enjoyed playing cricket.

  • Is a very important person involved with aerodynamics.
  • Is referred to as being "The father of aviation"
  • Became a pioneer of aeronautical engineering.

  • He loved inventing things, He designed Planes, Boats, Helicopters and even Railway Crossings.
  • He was the first ever man to make a successful flying glider to be able to carry a human in 1853.
  • He was also the founder of the Regent Street Polytechnic. (University)
