Born: Bridges Creek , Virgina
Bridges Creek later became known as Wakefield in a place called Westmore County

Father died when he was at age of eleven
Childhood: not really known
Tale: he chopped down a cherry tree and told his father due to his honest character
Tale: probably created by Mason Locke Weens (an author of a biography of Washington a year after he died).

wanted to join the British navy when fourteen, but didn't because of mother's wishes
