George Washington

Born on February 22, 1732 in Westmoreland County,Virginia, George Washington is known for being the first president of The United States.

Washington's face was put on the dollar bill to honor him as president which became tradition for the presidents' faces on money.

George was never taught another language like Greek or Latin, but he did excel in math. After those years of school he didn't attend college and stopped a formal education when he was fifteen.

Interesting facts:
🔹He bred hound dogs that he loved and named them unusual names:Tarter, True Love, and Sweet Lips.

🔹Washington suffered serious toothaches, so when he was 57 he got them all pulled and used false teeth.

🔹George married at 26 to Martha Custis, who already had children so he never had any kids of his own.

His importance in the war was he commanded the Continental Army in the Revolutionary War and made him a symbol of the war for leading the American army to victory.

"Then George Washington and his Continental troops entered New York."- From Sophia's War
