- George w was opposed by the colonies declaring Independence but he wasn't against resisting what He believed which was fundamental violations of the Rights of the English men.

- Philadelphia fell two weeks after being defeated in the battle of brandy wine.
- George w was forced to surrender his entire 6,200 man army because howe couldn't reach him on time.
- This allowed the french to openly ally itself with the American cause for independence
