Childhood
People don't know much about his childhood
He was homeschooled till he was about 15
There was a myth that he chopped his fathers beloved cherry tree down
His father died when he was 11, but his brother was a good father figure

His Wife
He was married to Martha Washington
She was married to another man but he died and she inherited his land
Martha and George never had kids, although she had kids before
George married her mostly for her money because he wasn't wealthy

He was a much better motivator than military specialist
When he won the American Revolutionary war, he was a hero
Once Spain and France helped, Washington's soldiers were better trained

President
He was voted unanimously because he was very popular
After he won his first election he also got a second term
Was only President to not live in the White House
He was one of the most well known Presidents today
George was offered a third term, but turned it down

Interesting Facts
He was very tall for the men in his time period, 6 foot 2
He never had children of his own
His face is on the one dollar bill
His face is also on Mount Rushmore
He was the first President of the United States

I thought it was interesting to learn about George Washington
I can't believe he was 6 foot 2
It was cool to compare how they elected the president to now
He also lived to be pretty old for the time period
