WHO SETTLED?

  • Some of the earliest settlers included English, Welsh, Jews, Catholics, Germans, Italians, and Swiss, which made them very diverse

CLIMATE AND GEOGRAPHY

  • Georgia had a warm climate which was great for planting crops with continuous growth
  • Natural resources of the Georgia colony were trees or wood, good land for farming, and fish
  • A downside of the warm climate though, was that diseases spread much easier and quicker than it did at places such as England

ECONOMY

  • Georgia did good being part of the mercantile system by exporting various things like indigo, rice, deerskins, lumber, beef, and pork
  • Georgia started to prosper from plantations as well, through the selling and growing of cotton.
