What is the creative writing industry?  What do they do?

• The Creative Writing Industry is a broad spectrum of jobs that relate to:
• Advertising
• Media ( news, entertainment, gaming, music) 
• Arts, Crafts, Fashion 
• Softwartware, Architecture, movies 

The Creative Writings Industries purpose is to draw in the audience and keep them interested in whatever information is being relayed.

Web Content Writers are relevant in the creative writing industry because most of the information we get on products and services comes from the internet. Without an effective webpage businesses can potentially lose out on clients and revenue.

Industry Terms

Figurative Language- a form of writing that breaks the monotony of classical writing by allowing the reader to paint a picture in their mind and ponder further into the meaning of the sentence.

Character Driven- a story in which the character is the driving force of the plot. The absence of the character would change the story so much that without the character the story would vary greatly.

Content Marketing

Content Marketing is an informative approach used to educate consumers about the products or companies in which they do business. The goal is to create long lasting relationships with the consumer to boost loyalty.
CWBFA students will need to be well versed in content marketing strategies and be able to conduct research to effectively apply such strategies in order to stay ahead while the trend is current. Moreover, student will need to be able to recognize when a trend has ran its course.

Nontraditional Media

Nontraditional Media is the use of platforms such as Facebook, car decals, T-shirts, talk shows/radio and guerrilla tactics in order to reach your audience. CWBFA students will need to be familiar with different nontraditional media approaches and find which ones will optimize their potential to reach their targeted audience.

Shonda Rhimes, creator of network primetime hits, Grey's Anotomy, Private Practice and Scandal. Only two other writers/producers have been able to have multiple top primetime shows running consecutively. Shonda is known for her multi ethnicity casts and her attitude of total creative control over her works.
