Life

The living conditions were horrible
Most people lived in cramped apartments with several families. The plumbing in these buildings didn't work, so waste and garbage was thrown in the street. This caused disease to quickly spread throughout the ghetto.

food

Nazis deliberately tried to starve the Jews in Ghettos. Food could only e obtained by trading in valuable items or paying extremely high prices, even this only got them a small amount of bread and potatoes. Some were able to smuggle food in but others had to steal to survive.

orphans

Everyday people were dying, some of them parents of children. This left kids alone on the streets of the ghetto forced to fend for themselves. These children had to beg and steal food. Smaller children risked their lives crawling through holes in the surrounding wall to search for food and help. If caught they'd be beaten and severely punished.
