Independent Projects

  • Independent Projects are a great way for many gifted students to fill up the extra time they have after completing their assignments. Use this time to help them develop their creativity by allowing them to explore a special area of interest related to the topic being studied.

Use Blooms Taxonomy

  • Gifted students should be asked to utilize the upper three levels - analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
  • For example, for Analysis ask the students to compare/contrast, solve, investigate, and examine. As a result, this will help them with report, conclusion, plan, and survey.

Three Strategies

  • For a teaching strategy I will try to always think out of the box with the assignments I give my students. As well as, help them discover different perspectives about what they are learning.

  • I will create assignment questions that will help the student reach the learning levels of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.

Untitled Slide

  • I will have my students use technology with their assignments. For example, if the subject we are learning is about African lions then the class will do the worksheet/activity I created. The gifted student can make a more in depth powerpoint presentation and then share it with the class.
