GILDED AGE DEFINITION
The gilded age was from 1870 to about the 1900s
It was an era of rapid economic expansion
This was the case in spefically the North and West
Wages in America were much higher then those in Europe
This increase in wages attracted many immigrants to America

CHILD LABOR
This photo displays a boy that does no havw the simplest education
He is 12 year old Furman Owens
He can not read, he does not know his ABC's
He has been in the mills since he was 8

This photo is of women marching to gain equal rights for women
This photo was taken in 1913 New York City and features the youngest woman suffragist

A side effect of urbanization is an increase in crime
The more people you have packed in a small place, the more crime you have

Populism is the belief that regular people have the power

This a Chinese man that came to America
He probably came here for a new opportunity or religious freedom
