TRADE WINDS

  • They are winds that blow toward the equator both north and south
  • As they blow toward the equator they shift westward
  • The shifting is caused by the rotation of the earth
  • When the winds blow across the ocean they move water towards surface
  • This moving of the surfaces causes ocean currents
