Physiological Adaptation:
Big Eyes - Giraffes have big eyes because they use them to look out for their predators.Giraffes have the biggest eyes among all the land mammals.

Behavioural Adaptation:
Sleep standing up - Giraffes sleep standing up because when a predator tries to attack the Giraffe, the Giraffe can instantly wake up and run away.

Zoo vs Wild (Food):
Zoo - in the Zoo the giraffe gets provided with food such as alfalfa hay, pellets, apples, bananas and carrots ( 34 kgs of food daily)

Wild - in the wild the giraffe has to look for his food such as in the dry season it eats evergreen leaves and in the rainy season it eats new leaves, stems.twigs and branches ( 30 kgs of food daily)

Are Zoos good or bad for the animals?
Pro -
Safe,no fear of predator
Don't need to find or hunt for food it is already provided by the Zoo.
If the animal is ill then the Zoo keepers will get it treated and take care of it.

Cons -
They don't have enough space as they would if they were in their natural habitat.

Breeding Programme:
The breeding programme for Giraffes at Hamilton Zoo isn't yet provided as there are 6 boys and if the Zoo people added a female Giraffe then the boys would fight with eat other to mate with the female.

How do breeding programmes help Biodiversity?
They help prevent extinction and save endangered species which helps increase the population of the endangered species by reproducing.

My opinion on Zoos:
I think that Zoos are great because they help with our education and it also helps the animals in the Zoo as they will be safe and taken care of by the Zoo keepers. If the animal gets sick then the Zoo keepers take care of the animal and gets it treated. The animals don't need to hunt or find their food as it is already provided by the Zoo.
That is why I think Zoos are amazing to visit for humans and also great for animals.
