GENETICALLY ENGINERED CATS

HOW?

• The Scientists inserted a gene into the litter that will make them glow
• Also inserted a green protein that will make them glow

WHY?

• They did this to try and fend of a disease called FIV
• FIV has the same affects on cats as HIV does on humans

PROS

• Will help destroy FIV
• May help scientists find a cure to HIV
• Used by scientists to help them learn more about this
• Creates cats with FIV immune dna

CONS

• The glow would make them loose their stealth ability
• May not help with FIV

WHAT DID I LEARN?

• Glowing cats may be the road to no FIV
• It will help find a cure to HIV
