If you are experiencing gluten intolerance symptoms, then you should speak to a health professional.

Gluten allergy tests:

  • anti-Tissue Transglutaminase
  • anti-endomysial antibody
  • genetic testing
  • eliminate foods containing gluten from your diet

Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase is the most sensitive test.

The test searches for the antibody IgA - the antibody that responds to gluten. If the test shows a positive result for the antibody, it is likely you have an allergy.

Doctors can also perform genetic testing.

Genetic testing requires either a blood test or a cheek swab and looks for certain genes.

If you do not have these genes, the test will come back negative and
you are not at risk for a gluten allergy.

The simplest test is to eliminate foods containing gluten from your diet.

In order for it to work, you must remove foods with gluten for two to three weeks to see if you have an allergy.
