Well, in the United States, for every one goat, there is one hundred humans. There aren't as many goats because they aren't really needed in our society. Cows are what we like.
Do you think the use of the goat has changed over time?
Yes I do believe that the goat has changed over time. It has became a use of moving materials, from more of a producer of meat, cheese, and milk. I believe that this happened because cows came along which provided an easier way to produce milk and cheese.
Why might the goat be valuable to a nomadic pastoralist?
It would be very valuable because it offers a lot of protein and calcium. It would produce protein from its meat which is very important to people who are always moving, and calcium from cheese, and milk which build bone strength which would help them stay strong in rugged environments.
