GOATS

Over 80% of the world’s goat population lives in Asia and Africa as feral and domestic animals.

Goats were domesticated over 9,000 years ago

Goats are ruminants, animals that utilize a rumen for the digestion of food

There are over 100 main breeds of goat worldwide, bred for milk, fibre or meat.

The female goat is called a “doe” or “nanny.” Up to the age of 12 months, she is sometimes referred to as a “doeling.

A mother goat giving birth to a baby goat is called a “kidding”

There’s 78 different kinda breed of goats
