WHAT THEY DO

  • Golf superintendents take care of the golf course grounds.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Golf course superintendents usually work outdoors from 6am to sunset
  • Also work inside to manage food, drinks, and other necessities for club house

  • Mowing greens, fairways and roughs
  • Rake bunkers (sand traps)
  • Manage clubhouse food and drinks

QUALIFICATION

  • Mangers need a bachelors degree in business administration, hotel and restaurant management, or some other related field
  • Need a high school diploma

Salary

  • The median salary for a golf course manager is $45,623

WORK HOURS

  • Usually work from morning to night (weather permiting)

  • Need to attend Business school
  • Some courses you would need to take would be restaurant and hotel management, and business administration

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Need to Use arms and legs for long periods of time
  • Mostly stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Need to stay awake during work

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to hold heavy objects
  • Must be able to see objects a few feet in front of them

  • Every golf course in the U.S and abroad has a golf course manager
