What is this government?

Government is a group of people that governs a community or unit.It sets and administers public policy and exercises executive, political and sovereign power through customs, institutions, and laws within a state.

What makes up goverment?

Legislative Branch
Executive Branch
Judicial Branch

The legislative branch is made up of two houses of Congress: the Senate and the House of Representatives.

What does the legislative branch do?
They make laws. Laws are written, discussed and voted on in Congress.

The Executive Branch includes the President which he negotiates treaties, and acts as head of state and commander in chief of the armed forces.

The Judicial branch oversees the court system of the U.S. Through court cases, the judicial branch explains the meaning of the Constitution and laws passed by Congress.

What is federlism?

Federalism is the process by which two or more governments share powers over the same geographic area.

Why is federlism important?

Federalism allows people living in different states with different needs and different interests to set policies suited to the people in their state, yet still come together with other states as one nation.

What happens if there was no goverment?

A state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority. (Anarchy)

We would be attacked by other countries because there would be no army or national gaurd to protect us.

We would go into a civil war and the U.S.A. would turn into Panama. (The hunger games basically)

So how will all this goverment affect you.

  • You have to go to school until you turn 18.
  • You cannot drive a car until  you turn to the age of 16.
  • You are not allowed out on the streets after 10:30 P.M.
  • You are going to wear a seat belt whenever you are in a car.
  • You will have to pay city, state and the goverment taxes.
