  • Government ruled by small groups of family's
  • In Athens between 8 to 6 century
  • Rich family's made rules and decisions
  • People were dissatisfied

OLIGARCHY

  • Ruled by few powerful people
  • Sparta was a city state
  • The people in power made decisions
  • Lower class did not like this type of government
  • This government was for wealthy families

TYRANNY

  • Ruled by tyrants
  • Tyrants had gained power by appealing to the common people
  • A city-state includes Argos and Corinth
  • People liked it but if a bad decision was made, they would rebel
