Facts

  • It was meant to stay in orbit for 5 years.
  • G.R.A.C.E was sent to monitor the loss of fresh water on earth

GPS

  • The G.R.A.C.E has 3 GPSs onboard
  • These help locate and position the craft

USO

  • The G.R.A.C.E has a ultra-stable oscillator
  • This provides frequency generation for the K-band ranging system 

SCA

  • The G.R.A.C.E. has a Star Camera Assembly
  • This precisely measures determines the two satellite's orientation 

MTA

  • G.R.A.C.E. has a Center of Mass Trim Assembly
  • It precisely measures the offset between the sattilite's center of mass
