Subject-Verb agreement:Subjects agree with their verbs in number. (Singular or Plural)
Example:
The butterfly is colorful.
The friends are together.

Apostrophes:Show possesion
If one owner: 's
That is my one son's coin collection.
If more than one owners: s'
That is my sons' coin collection.

Extra Information has commas or dashes around it
The guy in the red sweater, my dad, is flipping pancakes.

Pronoun
It must be clear what the pronoun refers to.
Must agree in number and gender with its antecedent.
Get rid of the names around the pronoun.
Think of something identical that you do understand.

Contractions
Always say both words: it's, you've,they've,we've,he's, they're
Impact: Contractions are less formal

Semicolons,colons, and dashes
Semicolon ; = breaks apart two full sentences
Colon : = Examples to follow
Hyphen or Dash - = A comma or a colon

Voice cannot change within a sentence:

Comparing multiple things:
When comparing two things; use -er, more, or less.
When comparing three or more things: use -est, most, or least
