GRAND CHALLENGE TECHNOLOGY

BY:AMY JAUREGUI-TOVAR, STEPHEN HAMMOCK, JARRETT CARAWAY, KENNEDY CLARK

TECHNOLOGY WE ARE USING:(AMY)

  • Index cards
  • Tape (lots of it)
  • Straws
  • Popsicles sticks
  • Wood pieces
  • Bottle caps.
  • Wires
  • Metal pieces.

OUR 2 FUNCTIONS OF OUR BRIDGE(KENNEDY)

  • We would do a double bridge so the vehicles can go one way and a another way with an another bridge.
  • Our other function we will do a big gate between one way of the bridge, like between so cars will be less likely to crash in to one another.

HOW WILL WE BUILD OUR BRIDGE?(STEVEN)

  • What we will do is first, we will use our Popsicles and do the structure of the bridge. Then, when done at the top of the bridge we will add straws. Also the bottom bridge, we will add lots of straws and tape for structure. At the standing point, we will add stacks of index cards, or stacks of Popsicle sticks. Then when we're done, we will add more tape so the bridge won't collapse.

HOW WILL OUR BRIDGE WORK?(JARETT)

  • Our bridge will be a great model that engineers can use so bridges can be safer, because what we are doing like since cars always on bridges are going one way and the other and so, we are going to put a big fence between the bridge so vehicles can prevent crashing.

GLOBAL AWARENESS BRIDGE!(AMY)

  • So, our bridge will be global awareness happy because first of all, when bridges light up at night right? Well, we will use charged solar panels instead of using real electricity. Also, when cars are releasing gas smoke, the bridge will suck all smoke by suckers under the bridge. This will be good so any smog can be released in air.

OUR COUNTRY: FRANCE (GLOBAL AWARENESS)

  • France has had many problems transporting people to other places. Because France only uses metro. Also, the bridge of seine, is only for people who are riding bikes or walking. France needs bridges for helping cars and many other vehicles to go to one place or another.
  • It says in the article that " Starting from Saint-Michel on the Left Bank, walk continuously so as to cross each bridge exactly once. Once again, start at Saint-Michel but find a closed route that ends back at the starting point. Start at Notre-Dame Cathedral, on Île de la Cité, and cross each bridge exactly once. Find a closed route that crosses each bridge once and arrives back at Notre-Dame." What's it saying is that it is hard to try and cross the bridges because there is always a closing route.
