• Each state would have a different number of representatives
• These representatives were based on the states population
• Larger states were in favor of this

New Jersey Plan

• The number of representatives would be the same for each state
• Small states favored this

House of Representatives

• Includes one representative for each 30,000 individuals in a state
• Satisfying the larger states

The Senate

• Equal number of representatives from each state
• Satisfying the smaller states

Great Compromise

• This two-house legislature plan worked for all states
• It became known as the Great Compromise
