THE GREAT DANE

  • The great dane is known for its height
  • Males get up to 30-34 in. tall
  • Females get up to 28-32 in. tall
  • Males weigh120-200 pounds
  • Females weigh 100-130 pounds

HEALTH PROBLEMS

  • Great Danes are prone to hip dysplasia
  • Heart disease
  • Mast cell tumors
  • Tail injuries
  • Bloat

GREAT DANE NEEDS

  • Needs to be walked before a year
  • Jogging is necessary after one year old
  • Needs to eat a certain amount (not overfed)
  • Needs to be trained while young or could be impossible to comtrol

THE GREAT DANE

  • In the past Great Danes were bred to hunt wild boar

  • Very gentle
  • Good with children
  • An affectionate companion
  • Loves to play
