  • The Great Pyrenees are from the Pyrenees mountains. 
  • The Pyrenees mountains are located on the border of Spain and France.
  • Guardian dog used since 3000 B.C by shepherds in Southern Europe 
  • The first breeding pair came to America in 1931

Pyrenees reasons

  • Pyrenees were bred to protect sheep,livestock, and people from predators
  • They are also famous show dogs in the working category. 
  • The Great Pyrenees are elegant; The largest dog that guards livestock!
  • Great Pyrenees are strong willed and vigilant but patient.

great care

  •  15-18 kg of good quality kibble should last about 4-5 weeks to feed a Py.
  • A full grown Great Pyrenees weighs about 85 to 120 pounds. 
  • Great Pyrenees live 10 –12 years and occasionally older.
  • Great Pyrenees sheds twice a year, mostly in Spring.
  • Some Health problems that they suffer are skin problems and cataract.

  • Great Pyrenees need 1 good long run or walk daily.
  • A secure fence or pen are absolutely necessary for Great Pyr.
  • Great Pyrenees love to roam free.
