Great Smoky Mountains

The Great Smoky Mountains are rising along the Tennessee–North Carolina border in the southeastern United States.

5 biggest rivers flows in the Smokies territory

The highest point in the Smokies is 2.025 m

The range is 76,000 ha

The name "Smoky" comes from the natural fog that often hangs over the smoky territory

The forests of the Smokies are typically divided into three zones:

1.Forests in the stream valleys, coves, and lower mountain slopes.

2.Forests on the higher mountain slopes.

3. Boreal forest at the very highest elevations.

The Great Smoky Mountains are home to a lot of animal spicies but the symbol of Great Smoky is black bear.

Tourism is key to the area's economy

Rafting, tubing is common all summer.Skiing is also done in winter, but in short period of time and in special places.
