  • Extremely fast horse
  • Offspring of Demeter/Ceres and Poseidon/Neptune or Gaea
  • Ridden by Hercules
  • Most notable owner Adrastus-Adrastus only survived the Battle of the Seven Against Thebes because of Arion

CERYNEIAN HIND

  • Gigantic deer that lived in Keryneia
  • Gold antlers

  • Dog that caught everything he hunted
  • Told to hunt the Teumessian fox, which could never be caught
  • Zeus realized it was a paradox and turned them both into constellations

PEGASUS

  • Winged flying horse
  • Offspring of Poseidon/Neptune and Medusa
  • Brother of Chrysaor
  • Tamed and ridden by Bellerophon
  • Bellerophon tried to fly to Olympus on Pegasus, so Zeus/Jupiter dismounted him and he fell to his death

  • Lured sailors to death with their voices
  • Daughters of the river God Achelous and unknown mother
  • Sirens given wings to protect Persephone at Demeter's orders
  • Persephone abducted by Hades-Sirens cursed with sad melody

  • Fifty heads which each expressed an emotion

  • There were 3-Briareus, Cottus, Gyges

CHARYBDIS AND SCYLLA

  • Charybdis-sea monster in Strait of Messina-created whirlpools
  • Offspring of Poseidon/Neptune and Gaea
  • Flooded land so was turned into monster by Zeus
  • Scylla-lived in rock near Charybdis
  • Picked up sailors and/or boats
  • Sailors could not get through straight-could get killed by either one

CALYDONIAN BOAR

  • King of Calydon, Oeneus, forgot to make a sacrifice to Artemis/Diana
  • Artemis/Diana sent a giant boar to destroy Calydon
  • Atalanta and Meleager, Oeneus's son, come to help, along with Meleager's uncles
  • Atalanta hits boar with first arrow, so when boar killed, Meleager wants to give her hide because he is in love with her

CALYDONIAN BOAR

  • His uncles were jealous, so Meleager killed them and gave Atalanta the hide
  • Meleager's mother heard of what he did, and burned a blanket that was literally his life
