  • During that time England exceeded in agriculture and industries
  • Easier farming increased prosperity among the nation
  • Industrial Revolution separated classes (1-2 &3 class)
  • Living and working conditions were awful in factories
  • Laissez Faire- French doctrine for gov't not to interfere

  • No working conditions to regulate safety in factories
  • Ex.: no one regulates hours, wages and no child labor laws
  • Laid peope off with ease when economy low whithout any consequences

  • After George III son took over the throne, England's economy Fell
  • Many people got laid off from factories to help save money
  • Also, factories have new machines that replace worker's jobs
  • Jobless people riot and destoy working machines
  • Law passed that if you destroyed a machine you will get killed

  • The Tory government passed a Corn Law, which taxed imported grain
  • In Britain, corn refers to any grain,
  • Labor unions were illegal
  • Factory workers wanted to join together to pool resources and fight for better work conditions
  • Government troops were called in to cover their meetings

Ups and Downs Sides
These taxes protected the income of large landowners and small farmers, but they also afflict the poor and unemployed by leaving the food prices high
