The diet of the Guadalupe consists of mainly insects.

Having no know predator, the bass live up to almost 10 years!

The Guadalupe bass spawning begins around March and continues through May and June.
They become sexually mature at the age of one.
They usually lay between 2,000 to 25,000 eggs in each spawn, giving birth around three days after fertilization depending on water temperature.

Most are found in shallow water, in a large group, easily seen due to the high clarity of the water in which they swim.

FACTS

  • Their main threat is actually not any predator, but hybridization due to the small mouth bass.
  • It is actually preferred to use a fly rod while fishing these, unlike any other bass.
