WHAT IS A GUINEA PIG?

A guinea pig is a rodent. It is similar to a hamster. Guinea pigs have fur, small paws, and whiskers.

WHAT IS A GUINEA PIG'S LIFE CYCLE?

Guinea pigs are mammals so they give birth to live babies. The baby guinea pigs are called puppies. A sow (a girl) can give birth when it is 6 months old. Babies become adults at 6 months.

Guinea pigs are pets and not made to be in the wild. A guinea pig needs a cage with shredded wood and hay, like alfalfa or timothy.

WHAT DO GUINEA PIGS EAT?

Guinea pigs do not eat meat. They eat fresh fruit and fresh veggies, like carrots, peppers, broccoli, beans and other leafy greens. They also like strawberries, apples, grapes, and melons.
