WHAT IS H1N1?

H1N1 IS A RESPIRATORY DISEASE

HOW IS H1N1 TRANSMITTED?

  • Some pork products that are unproperly cooked may carry the virus
  • It can also be transmitted by coughing,sneezing once infected.
  • If infected use proper sanitation to prevent spread.

WHO IS MOST COMMONLY AFFECTED?

  • People of age 25 or younger
  • Adults 65 years and older
  • Pregnant women

H1N1 PANDEMIC

  • The pandemic started in 2009.
  • It's highest peak was in April 18,2009.
  • The most affected area in the world was the United States

CONTROLING THE OUTBREAK

  • CDC or centers for disease control and prevention.
  • They created the vaccine to handle the seasonal flu (H1N1)

TREATMENT

  • A vaccine that is given yearly to prevent another pandemic.
  • This vaccine helps fight the virus off.

HOW THE PANDEMIC WAS DEALT WITH

  • The vaccines were limited at first.
  • By November 2009,48 of the 50 states had reported cases of H1N1
  • 61 million vaccine doses were ready in the same month.
  • The flu activity began to decline in part of the country.
  • With the rates so low it gave the medical community more time to prepare more vaccines.

CONTINUATION

  • 80 million people got vaccinated against H1N1.
  • It minimized the impact of the illness.
