WHAT IS HABITAT?

  • place where animals get what they need to survive
  • Each kind of animal has a specific kind of habitat
  • Animals require different amounts of space
  • A habitat is a place for living things
  • Includes water, food, and shelter

FOR EXAMPLE,

  • A Starfish's habitat is rocky tidals along the Pacific Coast
  • A moose's habitat involves a forest, (Evergreen Forest)
  • Each animal has a different kind of habitat
  • Habitat involves trees, plants, fresh water, and dirt
  • A habitat can also be a place for humans

WHAT IS AN ECO-SYSTEM?

  • Surrounded by plants, animals, and other living things
  • An eco-system can also include non-living supplies
  • Can be as big as puddle and forest
  • Nature works with other living things and depend on each other
  • Each organism has its own way to help out the eco-system

Examples of EcoSystems

A swamp, prairie, ocean, and forest all belong in an ecosystem. All ecosystems have organisms that help the ecosystem.

HEALTHY ECOSYSTEMS

  • Water for the animals to drink
  • Nature
  • Trees ( can be some animals shelter)
  • Food for animals to eat and survive
  • Shelter for animals to live in

WHAT MAKES THE ECOSYSTEM HEALTHY

  • Decomposers- organic materials
  • Producers- food chain
  • Consumers- gets energy and keeps organisms healthy
  • Water and food
  • Nature to keep it healthy

I think ecosystems and Habitats keep animals healthy and help them survive by giving them food and water.
