Hades was known as the ruler of the underworld. His Greek name is Hades, and his Roman name is Pluto or Dis Pater.

Some of Hades' powers is that he has to maintain the dead and he powers over them. Also he is the ruler of the underworld so he acts as a jailor.
For being the ruler of the underworld Hades' does have weaknesses. He is passionate over Persephone, impulsive, and he favors suddenly.
Myth of Hades and Minthe
Minthe was a beautiful water nymph and she was deeply in love with Hades. Persephone once saw Hades and Minthe strolling along the river Acheron. Persephone was angry and transformed Minthe into a tiny plant. Hades showed comfort to Minthe and gave her a divine scent that would last forever. It is the plant known as the mint.
Myth of Hades and Persphone
Hades was granted permission from Zeus that he can capture Perseophone and make her his queen of the the underworld. Demeter stops all foods from growing until her daughter is returned. A deal is worked out so Persephone spends one-third of the year with Hades, one-third with Zeus, and one-third with her mother.
