PRESENTATION OUTLINE

FICTION

  • A pice of writing that comes from the authors own imagination not true but it really could be based on true events

SHORT STORY

  • Usually reveals around a single idea short stories are meant to be read in one sitting

NOVEL

  • Much longer and more complex usually involving multiple storylines

SETTING

  • The time in the place in mood of a story usually time plus place equals mood

PLOT

  • The chain of events or what happens in The story

EXPOSITION

  • Sets the stage characters introduced setting describe conflict begins

COMPLICATION

  • Plot gets more complex character struggle to find solutions to conflict suspense blues

RISING ACTION

  • Protagonist continues on way events happened that Lee closer to confronting the conflict

FALLING ACTION

  • Events following climax pieces put back together.

RESOLUTION

  • Story ends, loose ends tied up or some left open in case of series

FORESHADOWING

  • Hints to feature events in the story

SYMBOL

  • A concrete object use by another author to represent an idea usually not started to the reader must figure it out
