HAIR CELLS

THE HAIR OUTER CELLS BY: HOLDEN BROITZMAN

Untitled Slide

The hair cells function is to
Detect movement around it.
And the hair cell I'm talking about is not on your head. Its in your ear. Its detects vibration so you can hear.

The reason the hair cell is its shape (Long skinny cylinders) is to have more surface area. Which helps it detect more movement.

The hair cell is located in the Corti organ. Which is basically the thin membrane in your ear. This is a part of the auditory organ system. (Hearing basically)

FUN FACTS?

  • There are over 20,000 hair cells in each cochlea.
