WHAT IS IT?

  • Autoimmune disorder causing the
  • body attack the hair follicle
  • by mistake. Usually appears in
  • small round patches.

  • White blood cells attack the
  • rapidly reproducing cells in the
  • follicle causing hair growth to slow
  • down drastically.

WHO CAN GET IT?

  • It affects 2%of Americans
  • and affects men and women of all races
  • and ages. Studies have shown that
  • most people who get it have had a
  • family member with the disorder.

HOW IS IT TREATED?

  • There is currently no cure
  • but there are some options
  • Such as minoxidil that can help
  • hair grow back.
