HAMMURABI

  • Was known for the Hammurabi code
  • Born: 1810 B.C in Babylon
  • Died: 1750 B.C in Babylon
  • His Father was the king of Babylon
  • When he was 18 years old, his dad died

HAMMURABI'S CODE

  • Hammurabi was given the title of King at eighteen years old.
  • There is 282 laws in the code
  • The best surviving examples of the code is the diorite stele

SOME LAWS WERE SEVERE

  • If a son hits his dad, his hands will be cut off
  • If a man cuts someone's eye, his eye will be cut off
  • If a man hits someone of higher rank, he will be hit 60 times with an ox-whip
  • If a builder builds a house for someone and it falls, killing them, then the builder will be killed
