The Beginning

• Lui Bang was the emperor of the Han Dynasty
• This dynasty was named after Lui Bangs home land

Han Wudi

• Han Wudi put confucian principles in place
• Defensive principles were put into place where China would not 
• invade other countries. 

Land and Reform

• Small land owners would always go into debt which would force them to 
• sell their land
• Wang Mang tried to take all the land which he believed belonged to 
• the empire.
