PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Hannah Senesh (originally Szenes) was a Jewish girl who joined a secret military project to help European Jews
She trained with 110 others but was one of only 32 who were actually dropped in Nazi territory.
She made contact with and helped several anti-Nazi forces in Yugoslavia.
She crossed the border into Hungary, but was captured hours after her arrival.
She was tortured for her radio codes.
She refused to break even when they threatened her mother.
Hannah was put in prison, where she communicated with other prisoners to keep their spirits up.
Rather than beg for a pardon, she went to her death.
At her execution, she refused to wear a blindfold so she could face her captors.
Hannah Szenes was also an excellent poet and writer.
Her work and her sacrifice inspired others in her country and around the world.
