FUN FACTS

  • Hans Christian Anderson was born on the 2nd of April in 1805. And died at the age of 70 on the 4th of August 1875.
  • His fairy tales were not popular at first, it took about 10 years before they were well received and bought by children and parents.
  • A bronze statue of the writer sitting on a granite bench was created by sculpter Georg John Lober in 1956.
