WHAT IS THE HARP SEAL'S PREY?

  • Fish

HARP SEALS FUR LIFE

  • Pups are born from late February-April, measuring 80-85 cm in length and weighing 10-11 kg.
  • Harp seals are born with fur which is yellow when they are born
  • After a few days the fur turns white.
  • 2.5 weeks later, the pup begins to molt the white fur which is replaced by a silvery-gray coat with dark spots.
  • 14 months later, juvenile coats have larger spots
