ABOUT MINTY

  • Around 1822 - March 10, 1913
  • Three of her sisters were sold as slaves.
  • A two pound weight hit her in the head.
  • She joined the Underground Railroad.
  • After slavery ended Harriet worked to help women’s rights.

Kind
She cared for others and helped them if they were hurt. She was a nurse, a cook, and a spy

Kind
I can be kind by helping someone when they are hurt or sad.

Brave
Harriet Tubman was brave because she went back and forth from the south to the north. If she got caught she would be treated very badly.

Brave
I can be brave by doing the right thing even when it’s hard.

Selfless
Harriet Tubman was selfless because she risked her life working on the Underground Railroad.

Selfless
I can be selfless by taking care of my little sisters.

“ I have heard their groans and sighs, and seen their tears, and I would give every drop of blood in my veins to free them.”
