Actual Escapes In June of 1962, three men named Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, and Frank Morris, attempted to escape Alcatraz by swimming to the shore of the San Francisco Bay. They were never found again and were presumed dead. Some theories state that they made it out alive, but we cannot be sure without proper evidence.
