  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Purging
  • A feeling of internal burning
  • Chills

TRANSMISSION

  • Cholera germs are found in the feces (poop) of infected people
  • Cholera is spread when feces (poop) from an infected person gets into the water people drink or the food people eat
  • Cholera is not likely to spread directly from one person to another.

COMPLICATIONS

CHOLERA CAN QUICKLY BECOME FATAL. IN 13 TO 18 HOURS: POSSIBLE DEATH

HOW ITS DIAGNOSED

ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF CHOLERA BY CULTURE OF A STOOL SPECIMEN REMAINS THE GOLD STANDARD
