QUICK INTRODUCTION

  • Mental illness is a disease that causes mild to severe disturbances in thought and or behavior. There are more then 200 classified forms of MI.

DEFINE

  • PTSD is a mental condition triggered by experiencing or seeing a terrifying event

CAUSES

  • It happens when you go through a tough experience or a life threatening act. Causes can start as early as childhood or war.

SIGNS/SYMPTOMS

  • Symptoms: flashbacks, nightmares, anxiety, sadness and depression.
  • Signs: fearful thoughts, odd behavior, strange ideas.

STIGMA

  • Some stereotypes around PTSD are when people Joke around with this Mental Illness. It is NOT a Joking matter

TREATMENT

  • One treatment for PTSD is to talk to a therapist. Another could be to talk to other people with the Same mental illness and talk about similar experiences

CONCLUSION

  • Mental Illness is a disease that causes mild to severe disturbances. PTSD is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or seeing a terrifying event. It can start as early as childhood. What happens is severe anxiety, flashbacks, hallucinations and nightmares.
